"“Sweet, lovelorn pop and startlingly honest confessional songs.”—All Music Guide"

Juliana Hatfield loves making music. To her, making music is making something—beautiful, flawed, honest, real—out of nothing. She strives to be authentic and has sacrificed the commercial idea of success to stay true to herself. She says of her career in the music industry, “the pressure to be something I was not was constant and unrelenting. I sort of tried to play the game for a while but I was disqualified because I wouldn’t smile for the camera.” Hatfield began her career as part of a trio—The Blake Babies—who had some success and toured in the early ‘90’s. After her band broke up, she went solo, having since created eight full-length albums.
