Julian Kytasty is a renowned bandura (traditional Ukrainian stringed instrument) virtuoso. In 1980 he moved to New York to become Artistic Director of the New York Bandura Ensemble and began a career as a solo artist and bandura teacher that has taken him all over the globe. In 1989 Mr. Kytasty was one of the first Ukrainian-American artists to be invited to tour in Ukraine. His concerts and recordings have gained Mr. Kytasty a reputation as an artist for whom the tradition he has mastered is not a museum piece, but a basis for a living art.
