INFORUM and The Commonwealth Club present

Wednesday September 19
Josh Wolfe, Video Blogger and Freelance Journalist
Freedom of the Blog
25 year old video blogger and San Francisco mayoral candidate Josh Wolf served 226 days in prison after refusing to turn over a collection of videos of an anti-G8 anarchist protest to a Federal district court. Wolf, who was awarded the Journalist of the Year award by the Society of Professional Journalists in 2006, is considered by some a journalistic martyr, by others an “alleged journalist”. Come hear his thoughts on freedom of the press in an age of technology, what defines a journalist and other issues.

INFORUM is a division of The Commonwealth Club by and for people in their 20s and 30s, with a mission to inspire debate around civic issues. We are a connector between ideas, individuals and communities.

Founded in 1903, the Commonwealth Club has played host to a diverse and distinctive array of speakers, from Teddy Roosevelt in 1924 to Erin Brockovich in 2001. Along the way, Martin Luther King, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and Bill Gates have all given landmark speeches at the Club.
