Joseph: From the Pit to the Palace April 30, 2010

The musical presented by Trinity Lutheran School this year is "Joseph: From the Pit to the Palace." This is a "Stomp" musical Created and written by Jimmy Travis Getzen & Gail Getzen. Grades 1-8 will perform. Directed by Mr. Nathan Schultz. Refreshments will be served at a Reception following the performance.
From Mr. Dahlke:

"What a world in which we live! Our kids are beseiged with mixed messages about life and truth. How will they know if what they see on TV, watch at the movies and hear in music is of the world or of God?
They need to see for themselves what God's Word says. But in this fast-paced, media driven world, how do we hold their attention long enough to teach them God's truth? With "Stomp!" What kid does not want to beat on pots and pans, drum on a trash can? Stomp music is high energy, fun and has a unique appeal to kids of all ages.
Now that we have their attention, what do we teach them? We teach them about the godly character the Lord wants to develop in each of us. Integrity, faith, courage, endurance, humility, compassion, and forgiveness. All of these are seen in Joseph's life. We teach them that they can trust God because he is all-powerful, all-knowing, and in control of everything that happens. They see this lived out in Joseph's life.
Joseph's story is found in Genesis 37-50. Our musical covers Genesis 37, 39-46."
