The musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be presented on Saturday, August 4 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, August 5 at 2 p.m. in the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland Street. The production is part of Classics In the Library, the theatrical partnership between Backstage Productions and Williamsburg Regional Library. Admission is free and tickets are not needed. Joseph is the second show written by the musical theatre team of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. It premiered in London in 1968 and on Broadway in 1982. The play, based on the Old Testament tale of Joseph and his coat of many colors, has been performed more than 20,000 times by amateur theatrical groups around the world. Naomi Marrow of Backstage directed this Williamsburg production and stars Timmy Douglas in the title role.
