Performance artist Jose Torres Tama escaped the social storm that erupted after Hurricane Katrina on a pirated school bus running a sort of South bayou version of "Hotel Rwanda." Combining bilingual text, personal stories, movement, and rituals of fire and water, he speaks of a universal challenge wherein one's instincts for personal survival must be balanced by a sense of humanity.
