One of the leading voices of young contemporary Mexican writing, Jorge Volpi, will visit the Instituto Cervantes of Chicago for a conversation with Allert Brown-Gort, Associate Director of the Institute for Latino Studies at Notre Dame University. The discussion will focus on how Drug trafficking have gone mainstream in Latin American Literature. No longer is it just constrained to police reports and news. It is now a regular background in books, films and soap operas. Why is this phenomenon happening? How affects literature and society in the region? These and other questions will be solved in this engaging debate.
