Jorge Drexler's "Al Otro Lado del Rio" for the film The Motorcycle Diaries was the first song in Spanish to be nominated for an Academy Award. It won, making Drexler a hero in his native Uruguay. His music is a combination of Uruguayan traditional music, including the candombe and milonga, bossa nova, pop and jazz, a combination enhanced by Drexler’s personal compositions and original arrangements.

Originally from Peru, Tania Libertad is one of the most significant Latin American artists performing today. Her soulful and buoyant style transcends borders, seamlessly integrating the Afro-Peruvian songs of her youth with sounds of Cuba and Brazil. Her stunning vocal technique moves effortlessly from the passionate boleros to infectious rancheros of Mexico, her current home.
