Jorge Drexler is an exceptional artist out of his lyricism, his naturalness and out of his very personal way of saying things, so subtle, so intimate and, at the same time, so universal. Drexler was born in Montevideo, and after recording two albums in Uruguay, he was invited to Madrid (Spain) by well-known spanish songwriter Joaquin Sabina, who introduced him to other important Spanish singers. He moved there and recorded another four albums; the quality of these albums has turned Jorge Drexler into one of the most critically acclaimed authors, respected by the most renowned Spanish and Latin American artists. Furthermore, he is the only singer-songwriter who dared to present a bold combination of traditional and technological music: his is a synthesis of musical influences mixing Latin American sensuality, experimental contemporary Spanish music and the down-to-earth beats of Anglo Saxon tradition.
