Olivier Messiaen Centennial: Jonathan Dimmock, Director of Music Ministries at St. Ignatius Church and adjunct faculty of USF, will present a free organ concert in St. Ignatius Church on the 100th birthday of the Catholic mystic composer, Olivier Messiaen. The concert will be held on Wednesday night, December 10 at 10 p.m. Jonathan will perform the entire La Nativité suite; and a light display will also take place in the church at the same time. Jonathan is considered one of the foremost proponents of the music of Messiaen in the United States, having been told by the composer himself that he has a perfect understanding of this music. Jonathan has recorded over 30 CDs and tours internationally, frequently performing Messiaen’s music. This music is intense, powerful, and amazing. You’ll not forget this concert!
