"""Wide range and real heart"--No Depression, on Harding's Adam's Apple CD"

U.K.-bred and Brooklyn-based songwriter John Wesley Harding took his name from Bob Dylan's classic 1967 album. In addition to songs that range all over the musical map from pure pop to deliciously obscure, he's known for his wide variety of collaborators. Harding has toured solo, has recorded with the classical avant-garde's Gavin Bryars Ensemble, has worked with country musicians, and more. Now he comes to The Ark with as part of his All Male Threesome, with Scott McCaughey (say "McCoy") of R.E.M. and Dag Juhlin of Poi Dog Pondering. McCaughey and Juhlin perform 25-minute sets, followed by a movie-length set from Harding with input from the other Males. The All Music Guide calls Harding's latest album, Adam's Apple, "the finest of his career.""
