John Salvest: Consumo Ergo Sum September 5, 2010

John Salvest has long made artworks out of used objects such as coffeefilters, cigarette butts, nail clippings, and chewed bubble gum. In his installation, he has amassed hundreds of plastic bottle caps to make a colorful map of the United States that is both a visual pleasure and also a reminder of the downside of our consumer society.
