Since scoring a home run in 2001 with his hit single, 'No Such Thing,' John Mayer started building upon his rise from singer/songwriter to Grammy winning superstar, winning Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for 'Your Body is a Wonderland' from his album 'Room for Squares.' His followup, 'Heavier Things' would strike Grammy gold once again for the single 'Daughters' earning Mayer an award for Song of the Year. After recently touring with Sheryl Crow & earlier with his John Mayer Trio project, Mayer returns to support his latest effort, 'Continuum.' Folk-rock vocalist Brett Dennen's 2006 release 'So Much More' is just that - so much more than most debut albums are in its songwriting, musicianship and expressiveness. Compared to Tracy Chapman, Bob Dylan and Dave Matthews, Dennen's taking the critics by storm and picking up more than a few fans along the way. Malibu native Colbie Calliat's style is thoughful, engaging acoustic pop in tune with Jack Johnson, Joni Mitchell and Fleetwood Mac circa 'Rumours,' which coincindentally, her father, Ken Calliat, co-produced. "A great song," says Caillat, "should lift your heart, warm the soul and make you feel good." Taking her own sound advice, Calliat's debut album 'Coco' is simply crammed full of them.
