'Reinventing the Cylinder'

For this - his second UK 'solo' band tour - Jon will be enlisting the help of two Edison phonograph wax-cylinder machines to provide sound effects, bespoke voice-overs and additional musical backing.

Jon will once again be joined by the extraordinary 4-piece Remnant Kings featuring the amazing simultaneous drums/fiddle playing of Sam Sweeney (Bellowhead, Kerfuffle) and concertina virtuoso Rob Harbron (English Acoustic Collective, Kerr:Fagan:Harbron).

The show is in the form of two one-hour sets* allowing time to explore a great range of material, from the post-industrial themes of Jon's remarkable 'Songs from the Floodplain' song cycle, to interpretations of traditional material, to Bach played on concertina and fiddle, to underscored wax cylinder recordings of Victorian post-apocalyptic literature, plus the occasional rousing grunge classic from Jon's first album, Painted Lady.

Jon is still heavily committed to his work with Bellowhead and Spiers & Boden, so don't miss this rare opportunity to see him in this remarkable, uplifting, thought-provoking show.
