British pianist Joanna MacGregor represents pianism at its cutting edge, and her wide ranging recitals encompass Bach to the avant-garde.

Defying categorisations, Joanna MacGregor, regarded as one of the world’s most versatile and innovative musicians, has pursued a life connecting many genres of music. Her extraordinary musical career has seen her collaborate with symphony orchestras, chamber groups, jazz, traditional and world music exponents, and in the fields of film and computer technology. Equally at home with Bach, Ligeti, John Cage and Thelonious Monk, her recitals and CD recordings (on Collins Classics and her own label SoundCircus) have won universal plaudits and acclaim. Her debut solo recital here showcases music close to her heart: Bach, Shostakovich, popular Brazilian composers and her own transcriptions of Piazzolla tangos.
