As part of the Philadelphia Museum of Art’s “Art After 5” series, avant-garde vocal icon Joan LaBarbara will sing Feldman’s Three Voices (1982), accompanied by her own voice on two channels of pre-recorded sound; Feldman composed the piece with her in mind. The lush vocal texture of Three Voices, which stealthily incorporates a brief text by O’Hara, is unique in Feldman’s music, and should resonate beautifully in the museum’s two- story atrium space. LaBarbara’s performance, which begins at 7:15 pm, will be preceded by a set from the Brooklyn-based improv-rock band Zs.
