Jeffrey and Andrea both taught in New York City before moving to Charleston to open up a yoga school, Jivamukti Yoga Charleston. Their lives are dedicated to sharing the teachings of yoga, and you don't have to be around them long to feel their love for the subject. Given the blessing by their teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life, they own the only Jivamukti Yoga center in the United States outside of New York. They have been mentors at the renowned Jivamukti Teacher Training, have been featured in Yoga Journal, and are faculty members of Omega Institute and Kripalu. Known for their uplifting, fun, creative, musical, inspirational, challenging classes, these two are a force!

Saturday: Ahimsa - A Universal Vow
In Master Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras, the yoga practitioner is provided with 5 yamas, or universal vows. They come in the portion on practice, the Sadhana Padah. Ahimsa is a practice of not causing harm to others, until the feeling of “otherness” ceases, and there is yoga- joining, uniting with all. Join us to explore this most beautiful subject of kindness, as you twist, fold, stretch, balance, bend, breathe, laugh and sing!

Sunday: The Three Gunas
In the unmanifested Universe, energy has three qualities, known as Gunas, that exist together in equilibrium: Sattva (purity); Rajas (activity); and Tamas (darkness). Once energy takes form, one quality of the three predominates. The yogi always exerts to increase Sattva in his/her lifestyle. Only in enlightenment are the Gunas completely transcended. We'll explore how the many yogic practices, such as asana and pranayama, correspond to each quality. Bring 3 friends! You'll leave feeling like your battery is charged, and your heart is enlarged.
