Jimmy Cobb's 80th Birthday Celebration January 24, 2009

Drummer Jimmy Cobb was the vital pulse behind scores of jazz performances and recordings including the Miles Davis masterpiece 'Kind of Blue.' He also worked with fellow jazz legends Dinah Washington, Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday, Wes Montgomery and Sarah Vaughn, among others. Still swinging and as vital as ever, Cobb celebrates his 80th birthday with a quartet featuring saxophonist Javon Jackson, guitarist Russell Malone and bassist John Webber.
