To foster free-form public discussion about the current situation in Iraq, Turner Prize-winning British artist Jeremy Deller invites a revolving group of veterans, journalists, scholars, and Iraqi nationals with expertise in a particular aspect of the region and/or first-hand experience of Iraq to take residence in the gallery every day. Several artifacts, including the remains of an exploded car from Al-Mutanabbi, share the gallery to further stimulate the discussions about Iraq. The project will encourage public discussion of the history, present circumstances and future of Iraq through unscripted, nonpartism conversation.
