Jennifer Gengle Live @ New Little Bar March 19, 2007

Italian Psychodelic Garage Rockers Jennifer Gentle are what most people haven't realized yet the most prominent band to hit Chengdu so far this year. Chengdu is one of the very few stop overs on their litlle China tour and their first China gig will be in the New Little Bar in cooperation with www.chengdoo.com, www.platypusmusic.cn and www.cinaoggi.it on an unusual Thursday night.

Jennifer Gentle also uses the tour as an opportunity to support the youth HIV/AIDS awareness campaign of US NGO Population Services International (PSI)., PSI has already begun a TV campaign in January, 2007 encouraging safe sex as a sign of love and caring, and using Jennifer Gentle’s hit“I do dream you”, as the soundtrack.

About Jennifer Gentle
The two audio astronomers Marco Fasolo and Alessio Gastaldello from Padua founded Jennifer Gentle after Marco left his previous band the "Carcers" and giving up his job as a ice-cream seller in Berlin. They named the band after a song by Pink Floyd founer Syd Barret from the album "Piper at the Gates of Dawn " which indicates the starting point of their sound journey that takes them from 60s psychodelic rock, to 90s post rock, indie pop and garage.
Their two home recorded albums "I Am You Are" and "Funny Creatures Lane" won them a a small fan base of music critics in Europe and US, but not their own home. That changed when Jennifer Gentle got signed with their third full length album "Valende" to the legendary label Subpop home of Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, The Shins and 6 dozen more bands, 4 years after Marco send in his first demo to the grunge capital.
