On Thursday, Dec. 6 jcpenney elves will appear in the wee hours of the morning in Pioneer Courthouse Square in Portland, Ore. to create a ground mural out of 1,000 beautiful poinsettias. The 35' x 35' mural will spell out “Joy.” The community can enjoy the installation until noon at which time jcp elves will begin handing out the free poinsettias to visitors.
Additionally, through its charitable giving program, jcp cares, from Nov. 23-Dec. 31 jcpenney will invite customers to round up their store purchases to the nearest whole dollar to donate to Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign. With more than 25,000 red kettles at store fronts and shopping malls nationwide, this annual fundraiser helps to provide meals, clothing and toys to families who need it most.
