In October 2005 Kelly Corliss at the age of 26 suffered a massive brain stem stroke, which left him totally paralyzed. Doctors believed Kelly would not survive. Since the stroke, Kelly has made miraculous progress; he can now feeds himself, moves around in his wheelchair, uses the computer, and built his own web site (http://www.KellyCorliss.com). He can now stand for 2 minutes alone, and can walk across a pool multiple times. He has made much progress, but still needs considerably more therapy.

The Sonoma Valley Jazz Society has organized a benefit concert on Saturday, March 10th, 2007 - “Jazz for Kelly” The concert will feature internationally known musician Omar Sosa www.OmarSosa.com and Maria Marquez www.mariamarquez.com. All proceeds from the concert will go toward sending Kelly to the Chicago walking Clinic and other physical therapies and is certain to be a great evening of Latin Jazz!

$50 includes light hors d'oeuvres/no host bar;
$100 includes light hors d'oeuvres/wine/beer/soft drinks and preferred seating

Omar Sosa will feature a Bay Area reunion ensemble, with Geoff Brennan on acoustic bass, Josh Jones on drums, and Eric Crystal on saxophones. All three have toured extensively with Sosa over the years, and Brennan is featured on the Sosa recordings “Bembón” and “Prietos”. The event also includes vocalist Maria Marquez in Duo with pianist Jonathan Alford.
