borrowed from different musical styles, but also held together. The music has a strong compositional element, in conjunction with the possibility to play freely within. In the years after, Maarten has been working with sound based music, special techniques on saxophone and contemporary composition. After coming back to an improvised trio, each composition has been reworked by the musicians so that there is a different approach to sound in each of them. This now forms the frame within which the musicians improvise.
