Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis
Thu-Sat, Feb 22-24, 8pm
Rose Theater

The lipstick reds of a bebop fanfare and midnight blues of a low-down dirge syncopate our musical canvas. Inspired by the Museum of Modern Art's collection, the JLCO with Wynton Marsalis performs the music that moved Mondrian, Bearden, Pollock and others to saturate their art with the rhythmic energy of jazz. Then in a debut work, Down Beat magazine 2005 "Rising Star" Ted Nash interprets in song the masterworks of Picasso, Chagall and other twentieth century masters.
