TITLE: "Developing JavaFX Application with NetBeans 6.8"
SPEAKERS: Peter Pilgrim

ABSTRACT:

We will develop a JavaFX application using NetBeans 6.8 that will show off the features of the language and the development environment.

You will learn how to create NetBean JavaFX project from scatch and then start programming an application. In programming with JavaFX, you will discover how a rich user interface can be created very quickly. The application will cover the scene graph; how to create scene (a canvas), paints, shapes and FX 1.2.1 UI components. You will be presented with application with some functionality missing. You will fill in the missing pieces of a running application. Don't worry! I promise to make it easy for a relative beginner to understand. After completing the exercises, you will learn how to deploy the application as JNLP application.

At the end of the session, you will have a copy of the running application complete with source code to study on your time.
