Jasper Wood: Virtuoso Violin August 14, 2007

Canadian-born violinist Jasper Wood has established himself as a major talent of his generation. An acclaimed competition winner, Wood has developed a flourishing reputation as a sought-after soloist with major orchestras including Canada’s Montreal and Toronto Symphonies and as a recital/chamber musician throughout North America and Europe. Currently a professor of violin at the University of British Columbia, Wood has seven solo and violin/piano CD recordings on the Endeavor Classics, Analekta, Centrediscs, Disques Pelleas and Naxos labels.

Wood returns this year to the Festival to perform in collaboration with Peter Allen, Chamber Music KSMF Artist in Residence, pianist and composer, providing the KSMF audience with the opportunity to experience the intimate sound of world-class chamber music.
