157 Bleecker St.
New York City, New York

Jason Vitelli, the Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter, will be performing a set of his original songs at the famous Greenwich Village landmark, Kenny's Castaways. His hour set will be an thoroughly entertaining start to a full night of music, and it's all for $5!
Many have compared Jason's uncompromising style to early Elvis Costello, Rufus Wainwright, and Billy Joel. His influences run the gamut of music genres, including progressive rock, blues, folk and jazz. Bringing these styles together is an impassioned and fiery performance, topped off by a fantastic vocal delivery. A seasoned NYC performer, he has been playing around the city for over 3 years and recently signed a record deal with the independent record label Roomful of Sky Records.
He is coming off his January Release show for his debut CD, No Photographs. An album coalescing from a story of turmoil, it is much inspired by the British art rock albums of the late 70s (ala Peter Gabriel, Robert Fripp, Brian Eno, and David Bowie). Similar to these albums, Jason combines songs with instrumentals, and uses his experiences in New York City as a catalyst for his spirited writing and arrangements.
