JapanFest, now in its 22nd year, is the largest Japanese festival in the Southeast, typically drawing crowds exceeding 18,000. Organized by The Japan-America Society of Georgia, The Japanese Chamber of Commerce of Georgia, and the Consulate General of Japan, JapanFest Weekend is the highlight of a month-long series of events designed to promote understanding between Japanese and Americans in the Southeast.

JapanFest has a threefold purpose:

1. To offer visitors the experience of an authentic Japanese festival without having to leave the country.
2. To provide first-time visitors with an enjoyable introduction to Japanese culture.
3. To host a festive gathering for Japanese people and friends of Japan.
