Japanese Pruning Techniques Workshop March 19, 2011

Learn Japanese pruning techniques and enjoy an afternoon in Maymont's Japanese Garden during this hands-on workshop. Junko Liesfeld, Japanese Garden consultant, will discuss the Japanese Matsu Zukuri and Tama Zukuri pruning styles, and Peggy Singlemann, Maymont's Director of Horticulture, will give an overview of the history of Maymont's Japanese Garden. Participants will also gain hands-on experience while practicing pruning techniques in the garden. Dress warmly and bring your own tools (sharp hand clippers, sharp hand saw and gloves recommended).
