Japanese New Year Bell Ringing Ceremony December 31, 2006

The museum carries on the ancient Japanese annual tradition in which a temple bell is struck 108 times in order that the bad experiences, wrong deeds and ill luck of the old year may be left behind. This year's event also features a bamboo flute (shakuhachi) performance by John Singer.
