Japan Festival 2005

The 24th Annual Japan Festival will be held on June 25 and 26, 2005, Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the ?Forest View Education Center? in Arlington Heights, IL.
Mid America Japanese Club) MAJC/JAAC) in Partnership with Community Education (Township High School District 214) will jointly present ?Japan Festival 2005 ? first time at this new site.
Past 23 years, popular Japan Festivals have been presented at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Glencoe, Illinois. Due to the major renovation, this year?s event is moved to Forest View Education Center.

Admission is Free

* The attractions include various demonstrations: Taiko Drums, Koto, Shakuhachi, Shinobue, Okinawa Taiko and Dances, Choirs, Japanese Classical Dances, Minyo Dances, Aikido, Judo, Kendo, Karate, etc.
* Additional demonstration and exhibits are Chano-Yu (Tea Ceremony), Ikebana (Japanese Flower Arrangements) and Miyuki Flowers (Silk Flowers).
* Other exhibits from talented people will be presented. Most of those are for sale at the tables: Various Hand Crafts, Sumie, Brush Paints, Cards, Japanese Folklore Books, Fabric Crafts.
* Information Tables will also presented by Travel Agents, Human Resources Agents, Services, and other Japanese Organizations.
* Raffle Tickets will be sold for Grand Prize of round trip to Japan and many prizes.
* Taste of Japan has been another popular attraction.
