Japan Dance Now: Akadama of Sennichimae Blue Sky Dance Club February 2, 2009

As part of the Japan Dance Now residency at The Dance Center of Columbia College, choreographer Akadama of Sennichimae Blue Sky Dance Club will lead a class in "Suijakutai" (collapsed body). Based on the Suijakutai, students will practice standing up from the lying position while being conscious of every part of the body. Students will also learn the walk pattern and how to become a "thing," but not act like a thing.
