Jane Franklin Dance premieres Found, "in the gap between art and life." Choreographers from the region join forces with JFD, recycling found objects which are, by their very nature, unpredictable. Found letters, notes, objects and photographs provide a context for using discarded materials in the creation of a new dance work. The new work features original music by the Great Noise Ensemble. JFD also performs the visually compelling, Dancing the Page, interweaving poetry and movement. Original music by guitarist Jonathan Matis surprises with powerful, rhythmic and expansive sound that lets us ‘feel’ between the lines. Also on the program is To Flower, recently performed at New York's International Dance Festival, with music by the Snark Ensemble. With "a fine-tuned sense of humor," (Richmond Times Dispatch), “Franklin
has the ability to choreograph with a twinkle or a sigh and to do both without undue sentiment" (Washington Post). An artist co-presentation.

$20 general admission; $15 members, students, teachers (PreK-12), professional artists & seniors; $7 for children 17 & under
