AUSTIN, TEXAS – On Saturday, June 28th, Wally Workman Gallery will be presenting new work by abstract watercolorist Jan Heaton. Since her first solo show in 2002 at Wally Workman Gallery Jan has received enthusiastic praise from collectors and critics for her undeniably unique, abstract watercolors. It is nature that inspires Heaton’s new collection of watercolors, Full Bloom, especially the structures and details that are often obscured to the casual viewer. She constructs her paintings with hundreds of transparent layers that ultimately convey a mysterious personal narrative filled with evocative expression and life. The sensual forms dance lyrically across the surface, expressing a sense of emergence.
