Shape note singing happens in Richmond! And once a year, it happens in a big way. Shape note singers from around the country will cram into the parish hall at St. John's Church and shout it out all day, and we invite the public in on the day. The "Shape Note" tradition is the most aged and one of the most earnest American folk traditions around. Sacred text from 18'th & 19'th century American composers is brought to life in raucous a capella fashion.
