Mad, bad and dangerous to know, Jake Chapman ? usually in cahoots with brother Dinos ? keeps himself busy upsetting the Britart apple cart. Tonight, he turns his attentions to the granddaddy of art subversion, Georges Bataille. The Frenchman's fame stems mostly from getting himself kicked out of the cliquey surrealists, proclaiming himself their "enemy on the inside". But this philosopher, writer and pornographer was an artist in his own right, as well as the publisher of the uncompromising DOCUMENTS magazine. Art historian and surrealism expert Simon Baker gets Chapman's astute opinions on the influence of one of art's true enfants terribles on his peers' works. (CA)

NB: Tonight's discussion is held in conjunction with the Hayward Gallery's current Undercover Surrealism exhibition. Booking is essential on 0870.169.1000.
