Lamont Carey of “The Wire” and Ex-con Classical Guitarist Dennis Sobin at Benefit Concert for Prison Musicians

On February 22nd, the Potters House (1658 Columbia Rd NW), Jubilee Jobs and Prisons Foundation will cosponsor a benefit concert to raise funds to purchase musical instruments for local area prisons. Lamont Carey of “The Wire,” Ex-con Classical Guitarist Dennis Sobin, Jim Dugan and Joe Shade will perform.

Inspired by the Jail Guitar Doors project founded by Singer/Songwriter Billy Bragg in the UK last year, the Jail Guitar Doors Project aims to help in the rehabilitation of inmates through the transformative power of music. The benefit concert will be held on Friday, February 22, from 7 to 10 PM. The suggested donation for the event is $15.
