LA singer/songwriter Jackson Browne is known for such hits as 'Running on Empty,' 'Doctor My Eyes' 'The Pretender' and 'Lawyers in Love.' His introspective, literate lyrics have crossed personal and political borders over the years, but throughout his thirty plus years, Browne's been a touchstone for aging baby boomers amongst his fanbase.

I am a long time fan of J.B. --- as he went through the set list I knew most of the lyrics and what album each song was from. We had great seats; fifth row in the pit section.
Having said all that, it was just a great show. Certainly the audience was predominantly an older crowd but we all had a great time.
He played lots of older stuff, only putting in a couple of songs from the new album. As with any artist that has such an extensive history, there will be a favorite that gets missed, but he did try to please everyone.

He opened with I'm Alive. I am not sure what was next, but Fountain of Sorrow and Rock Me On the Water were feature very early.
Sky Blue and Black was great, as was For A Dancer.
He played Lives In the Balance, dedicating it to his son that was in attendance. He followed up with a brief commentary about Cuba (which was interrupted by a female calling for God Bless America, ****sigh*** ) and then played a new tune titled for Cuba.
The band was mostly familiar faces that have been with him for the past few years. Notable additions were two girl gospel singers that made great contributions to the show and were given some featured peices to work with. They were definitely not mere "doo wop" background.
All in all, no disappointments and certainly a professional crisp presentation.
Thanks, J.B. for a truly memorable evening.
