OAK PARK RIVER FOREST INFANT WELFARE SOCIETY TO CELEBRATE 90 YEARS OF SERVICE TO KIDS WITH CELEBRATION GALA, SEPT. 16
Radio Hall of Fame Inductee Angel Harvey is Honorary Gala Chair

Join the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society as it celebrates 90 years of providing free dental, medical and social services to children in 50 communities in the West Suburbs. For nearly a century the Society has served as a safety net for children whose families do not have access to health care insurance coverage.

To mark the milestone year, friends and supporters of the Society will celebrate at the Mid-America Club on Sept. 16, 2006, for the “It’s All About the Kids” gala. From high above Michigan Avenue, guests will enjoy panoramic views of the city, dancing to the High Society Orchestra, and world-class cuisine.

All proceeds will support the OPRF Infant Welfare Clinic, 320 Lake St., in Oak Park.

The Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1916 to help support impoverished mothers and their infants at a time when the child mortality rate was high. Today the Clinic provides medical and dental care and social services for children from birth to 19 years of age living in communities primarily in the west suburban Cook County area whose families meet federal poverty income guidelines.

The Clinic serves more than 2,100 children each year, through 6,500 visits. The 200-member Society helps raise important financial support for the Clinic as well as contributes a number of volunteer services.
