The Academy Award-winning, La Vita è bella, (Life is Beautiful) is the last film in the series of modern Italian cinema presented by the Colonial Italian American Organization (CIAO) and the Williamsburg Regional Library. The 116-minute film will be shown in the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland St. on Tuesday, March 11 at 7 p.m. Admission is free and no tickets are required. The film will be followed by a reception open to the public.

La Vita è bella is an unforgettable fable that proves love, family and imagination conquer all. This film won three Academy awards including Best Actor for Robert Benigni as a carefree Jewish book keeper named Guido who holds his family together and helps his son survive the horrors of a concentration camp by imagining that the Holocaust is a game and that the grand prize for winning is a tank. The film will be shown in Italian with English subtitles.
