In October 2008 the Isar will make its debut in Hollywood and there is a chance, the Bavarian river will become an instant celebrity with L.A audiences.
In a show of support for the outstanding work of Friends of the Los Angeles River (FOLAR) the Goethe-Institut Los Angeles will bring in Munich experts to tell the story of the ISAR’s exemplary and internationally unique renaturation.
The series of events include a public forum at the DWP talks between experts and representatives from politics, business, academia and the Army Corps of Engineers as well as visitations to the LA River.

What: A Biergarten with bratwurst and tacos for all! When:

Under the arches of the 6th Street Bridge. Join the delegates from Munich and fellow river friends for a Bavarian biergarten, bratwurst, tacos, live music from "Very be careful", an oompah band, the Rivie Awards and support FoLAR’s effort to give the cities along the LA River a revitalized and healthy River, lined by parks and recreation spaces.
$50 for general seating tickets, including dinner and drinks.
$1000 for a reserved table for 10.
