Born in Lucerne, Isa Wiss mixes voice and instrumentation into a blend of adventurous experimentation and more familiar territory with standards and popular song. As a singer she demonstrates diversity and versatility without losing any of the originality and individual recognisability of her vocal expression. She practises it in all the most different formations and musical calibres, in bands and projects: from the Electro-Pop duo and Jazz-trio over the freely improvising quartet to the big form of a big band - her voice meets the challenges here as well as there perfectly. At the same time she can vocally move with great competence in a spectre from Bel Canto as far as to free improvisation, easily sings over several octaves from material of the Great American Songbook, vocally fantasises in texts and sounds invented on the spot or interprets her own song lyrics.
