Who has what it takes to be the Guild Complex Iron Poet? That's what the Guild Complex aims to find out at this year's new interactive poetry competition. Inspired by the Food Network's 'Iron Chef," this event pits teams of local poets against one another in a head-to-head creative combat. And the contest doesn't stop until one team has deemed itself worthy of the coveted Guild Complex Iron Poet title.

The party includes a delicious buffet dinner from Chicago restaurants, an assortment of wine, and a chance to win prizes. The night of entertainment will include our Iron Poet competition, music, a one-time display of original art, and a silent auction. The audience is encouraged to participate in the event by recommending 'secret words" for the competition and by forming fun phrases on our giant poetry board.

Our VIP guests will enjoy a variety of fine wines at their private bar. Wine will be served by a knowledgeable pourer who can acquaint VIP guests with the finer points and subtleties of the wines. VIP benefactors will also have access to an exclusive seating area where they can savor a buffet dinner of gourmet cuisine from Chicago restaurants.

Proceeds from this event will benefit the Guild Complex. The Guild Complex is a non-profit community-based organization that promotes cross-cultural dialogue through literary performance, readings, and workshops. We also support the professional and artistic development of Chicago's writers.
