Iris Dement's Rounder Records debut, 'Infamous Angel,' won critical praise and led to a deal with Warner Bros., who later reissued the album. Her 1994 follow-up, the highly personal 'My Life' and 1996s more topical 'The Way I Should' expanded her grassroots fan base, as did a 1994 tour with Nanci Griffith.
