Developers everywhere have made Adobe Flex one of the top, if not the top, Rich Internet Application (RIA) development platforms. Now, with the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR), we can make use of Flex and other web technologies we already know to deliver our applications to our user’s desktop.

AIR gives developers access to users computer and OS from Flex, Flash, and even HTML and JavaScript. This opens up a new realm for web developers and there is no ramp-up time for learning a new development language. AIR also gives designers the ability to design for the desktop with no limitations on the look and feel of the application.
