processing: other than a bad name for a computer language what is it? well here’s your chance to find out. started by a couple of mad geeks from MIT processing apps are pure pieces of art created purely with code, so should be of interest to designers, developers and all other Flash geek-types alike. in the words of it's creators:

Processing is an open source programming language and environment for people who want to program images, animation, and interactions. It is used by students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists for learning, prototyping, and production. Processing is developed by artists and designers as an alternative to proprietary software tools in the same domain.

we'll be splitting the session up into 3 or 4 sections. firstly a quick, broad introduction to what processing is and isn't, then a step-by-step walk thru of a sample app i've written to show the process, syntax and aims of developing a processing app. a quick coffee break will then be followed up by either a bit of live coding to extend the sample app and/or a look at some great little apps that other people have created. so a beginning-to-end look at this fantastic open-source project.

so put your name on the dotted line and come along for great artCode and top codeArt!

It's at times like this I wish I lived closer to Brighton. :(
Any plans for a Processing geeks/artists meet-up in London?

Hey gelin, this is a FlashBrighton meeting so unlikely! You could ask the LFPUG if they'd be interested in it?

cheers
