Wednesdays beginning March 19. 7:30 - 9:30 p.m.

Classes are taught by western Buddhist Nun, Gen-la Kelsang Dekyong, U.S. National Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition of Buddishm and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center California (KMC CA). Gen-la Dekyong is known for presenting profound wisdom teachings with compassion, clarity and humor. Her classes are designed to give accessible usuable advice on how to integrate spiritual practice into your daily life. Week by week, learn how to move towards maintaining a peaceful mind in even the most challenging situations.

Topics to be covered are: Who was Buddha?, The nature of our mind, Past and future lives, Karma, Why and how to meditate, What is liberation? and The path to enlightenment.

This series is part of the General Program level of classes KMC CA. These classes are always open to the general public, no pre-registration required, on a "drop-in" basis (no full-series attendance requested or required)and are offered on an ongoing basis.

While the classes are part of a series, the unique presentation structures each class to stand alone, while dovetailing into each other for full-series attendees. The class is intended for not only those new to Buddhist inquiry, but also the experienced Buddhist practioner.

The class format usually includes: guided breathing meditation, topic teachings, guided topic meditation, group discussion and/or question & answer, and informal post class sharing.
