Into the Jet Age: Aviation and the Armed Forces 1949-1975 October 2, 2006

The COI came into being on the cusp of the transition from propeller to jet aviation. This evening of films illustrates how the COI celebrated and continued to showcase the application of the new jet technologies to the fields of British civil and military aviation. Aircraft featured in this overview include the Canberra, Concorde, Comet, Lightning, Swift, Vampire, Buccaneer, Phantom, Jaguar and the Valiant, Victor and Vulcan nuclear bombers collectively known as Britain's V-Force.
