Whether you are returning to sewing after a long hiatus, or are a new sewist who wants to go beyond her present sewing skills, this class is a good jumping off point.
The class covers assembly of garments using 5-7 pattern pieces. The recommended garment is a shirt type top, so you can learn to sew a placket, install sleeves and make buttonholes. All students in this class will be making projects with woven fabrics. We will not be sewing knits in this class.
Students in this class should already be able to use their sewing machine for a variety of stitches, wind their bobbin, thread their machine, sew darts and install a zipper. If you aren't able to do these things, the beginners class is where you need to begin, or a private lesson, for a quick refresher.
Cost of the class is $150. We meet 4 consecutive Thursday evenings beginning 10/18. You will need to bring fabric and pattern, as well as other materials and supplies for the class. If you need help choosing these items, let the instructor know and she will make some recommendations via e-mail. All washable fabrics should be washed and dried prior to class.
