John Gerard, the quintessential street performer famous in Boston and Cambridge, will make his celebrated stage debut at the Orpheum Theatre Foxboro on Saturday, November 20th, at 6:00 p.m.

Born in Paris, France, Gerard grew up listening to Billy Joel, The Police, and 'the dirty mouth of French Pop' Serge Gainsbourg. He moved to Massachusetts in the late 70's and was introduced to Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Minor Threat and Iron Maiden. Inspired, Gerard formed his first band at age 14.

After fronting for various other bands, Gerard is now a solo musician who earns his living playing the streets and subways of Boston and Cambridge. His stage and street presence are compelling, and have caused quite a few late commuters as many listeners miss their trains and buses to listen.

Recording artist Mary Gauthier said "John Gerard's songs are real. Raw. Honest. Pure. And a singer he is, what a beautiful voice. His new CD [What Lies Between] is a lovely, highly listenable body of work. It sounds fantastic, it sounds like John - accessible, pure, unpretentious."

Gerard will also be joined by artists Allysen Callery, Rebecca Wolff, and Matt Berrello during his 'Street to Stage' performance. Rhode Island-based Callery was recently nominated for Best Female Vocals in 2009 and 2010 by the Providence Phoenix. Wolff, who will pre-open the show, is an up-and-coming singer/songwriter with a powerful voice. Berrello is a folk singer/songwriter who has played at multiple venues across southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
